This is the beginning. This blog is about sharing with the world how simple it is to spread unity and Unity principles (notice we did not say easy) . As stewards on this planet we have a responsibility to teach what we know. This blog is about what we have learned and how we have applied these lessons to achieve success in life, love, and happiness.
One of the first things we want to share is the misunderstanding of prayer. As a active believer in the work of Silent Unity (www.silentunity.org)Many people pray to an anthropomorphic God, believing God to something external to ourselves. They say "Please pray to God that he will save me and my home from foreclosure" or "I want God to make the judge go easy on my son" or worse yet "I want God to come down and make my husband come back to me and my family instead of his mistress ". These are often referred to as "Go Get'em, God" prayers.
The disadvantage to this philosophy is that we reach out in times of trouble to something outside of ourselves. What we do not realize is that the power is within us. In the Bible (Luke 17:20) is just one example of what Jesus the Christ was trying to teach us. "Jesus replied, "The kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation, nor will people say, 'Here it is,' or 'There it is,' because the kingdom of God is within you."
The power is within us! So the next time you pray remember to have faith in the power you have, have faith that the kingdom of God is within in you. If you have to pray, pray to yourself for increased awareness of your strength and power, of your innate ability to love, be loved and find true happiness and success. All that you can, do, and be is within you. You just need to increase your awareness of this truth, through consistent thought and persistent action.
Just remember there is nothing to pray to, just a divine flow to get into. (Eric Butterworth)
